School Districts have always struggled with budget demands and in today's economic climate perhaps more so than any time in recent history. What impact can "green technology" make in these trying times? Simply put school districts can save money and energy by implementing a green technology approach as to how they deliver computer based educational material. In the United States the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates K - 12 spending on energy is $8 billion per year much more than they spend on computers and text books. The number in Canada is estimated to be $500 million (Environment Canada). In the past school districts have been asked to pay a premium for "going green", at BlueCurl we not only believe that is wrong but actively seek products and create programs that save precious budget dollars up front and provide ongoing operational expense reductions.

For example, a typical school lab with 30 workstations currently costs around $23,000 and consumes over 7,000 kWh's of electricity per school year, while a BlueCurl green lab costs about $11,000 and consumes 3,500 kWh's of electricity. Additionally we have programs that allow qualified school districts to implement power saving software at no initial cost which allows them to save literally 10's of thousands of dollars per year every year.
